New Addition

Camp has ended and I am ready to start blogging again!  I figured I would start by getting all of those shoots I have done posted!

I had the privilege of photographing this beauty here.

She is simply gorgeous. Those eyes. That coloring. That hair. All of it.

But now it’s her little sis’s turn to get into the action.

Their new addition is really something.  I just wanted to kiss those cheeks all day long.

Congratulations my friends!! Your family is amazing. Thanks for a fun morning.

Family Photos

I love doing family photo shoots.

Especially this family.

I have photographed the kids twice before…but never the parents. I know how hard it is to get into photographs with my kids. I never want to. I never do.

But I think it’s such an important time in their lives and we moms (and dads) deserve to be in it and seen!!!

I think they are all gorgeous and it shows up in these photos.

Thanks to my dear friends for a great day.

Now I need to find someone to do this for me and my family! Any volunteers?

Enjoy the weekend everyone!

Our Summer

I guess I should have made an announcement that I was taking the Summer off.  I didn’t know it until it happened. I didn’t know that I would be so busy that I wouldn’t have time for much else.

It’s a funny thing about being a stay at home mom.  Your life’s schedule is constantly changing…bending and swaying.  We go through the ins and outs of kids’ lives and stages in our day to day.  At one point you think….I have time…let’s start a blog.  The next thing…..you are spending your summer working at a day camp so your kids will have the opportunity to attend.

I plan on getting back to focusing on the blog, some photography, maybe a little etsy shop, and some homesteading in the Fall.

In the meantime, forgive me for going from an already not so great blogger to a really, really bad blogger with more infrequent posts and bad blogging etiquette. 🙁

We are still living life. Having fun and enjoying ourselves. And I am still capturing it in the most creative way I know, photography.

Here is a glimpse (more like a glance) at our Summer so far!

Communion Photo Shoot

My photography season is as busy as ever and I am enjoying every minute of it.

undefined

This is my 2nd communion shoot that I have done. You can see the first one here.

undefined

I love these shoots.

Not only because it’s such an amazing and important time in a child’s life but it’s also so much fun to see these girls (and boys) dressed up.

undefinedundefined

This particular shoot was a riot. These kids really knew how to have fun together. The shoot was mainly for the adorable girl but her little brother was able to come and ham it up too.

undefinedundefined

I love that before every shoot the parents tell me that their kids might have a hard time in front of the camera. The parents are so nervous. They had a bad experience with someone before and then the day of the shoot. Their kids have the best time. I think the key is just to let them be themselves, let them have fun. It really shows up in the photographs.

undefinedundefined

And that’s exactly what happened on this shoot. They had fun.

undefinedundefinedundefined

They were both so well behaved and just as sweet as can be.

Not to mention gorgeous.

undefinedundefined

Thanks to the family for letting me capture such a sweet time in their children’s lives.
