I did it. I challenged myself to match my niece’s sketches of the girls’ demands and I finished.
Whoot, whoot! Halloween here we come!
And the reaction of the girls….made it all worth it.
“Mama, that’s the prettiest halloween costume I ever saw!!”
Yay.
Bring on the candy.
I cut lot of corners, skipped a lot of steps; but it doesn’t matter. They don’t care or really won’t even notice.
All that matters is that they love them. They had a vision and we made it happen. (Me and Nat).
For just a few minutes today, they believed. They believed they could run super fast, they believed they could fly, they believed they were super heroes.
Super hero girl and super butterfly girl.
God, I love being their mama.
They chased each other and looked for rainbows. They chanted and sang, and screamed as loud as they could. They had a blast.
It was all worth a late midnight sewing session for sure.
At one point it resulted in a competition and battle of the super hero and the scooters.
Only one winner could prevail…….
And this face says it all. Who do you think outlasted the other?
My little girlie ended up where she loves the most. In her mama’s arms.
The big one..well, she didn’t give up until I made her go inside.
I love Halloween. My kids adore it and I do too.
Maybe because we had so much fun as kids ourselves. I remember my mom asking what we wanted to be and (the day of) going through the house and closet scrounging up whatever we had to put a costume together.
We could be whomever we wanted to be. Even if it was just for one day.
And in honor of our official favorite holiday of the year. We are doing a giveaway!
Let’s see who is paying attention.
I did my best to try and match up my niece’s sketches as well as I could. But there are a few noticeable differences.
If you can name 1 difference between the sketch and the girls’ costumes then I will enter you in a drawing to win a $25 Target Gift Card.
All you have to do is:
1) Leave a comment on the 1 difference from sketch to costume
2) All eligible entries will be placed in a random drawing (picked via random.org)
3) Giveaway ends Sunday night at midnight
4) Winner will be drawn Monday morning
5) Contest open to US residents only
Ready, set, go!
Have fun.
PS–Thank you Nat! We loved the challenge and the inspiration. Muahhhhawwwahh!
